Tagumpay! —Due to continuous collective actions of students, three (3) fees are successfully junked at the PUP BOR (Board of Regents) Finance Committe’s special meeting last August 24, 2016 at PUP San Juan Campus.
The said fees are the following: Late Payment Fee (P100), NSTP Program Fee (P150), and Shifting Fee (P150). As Student Regent Anareta proposed the agenda containing student matters, he asserted that the student matters be discussed first before the BOR dismisses it once more. The BOR accepts, due to the pressure of constant student movement calling out for their basic rights on education.
On the same meeting, the PUP administration subtly proposed for the manual scheme of collection of publication funds for the college publications which will offensively attack the rights of campus journalists.
All of the approved matters in the said meeting will be moved to the next BOR meeting for its final approval. This simply means that our campaign for our basic right to education should be non-stop and growing.
