SR Anareta's submitted Student Agenda were excluded in the recently held Board of Regents meeting in CHED, Diliman, Quezon City last October 20. Even though the Student Regent submitted the agenda with Executive Summaries for each matter before the deadline of submission, the Office of the Board Secretary still reasoned out that this was due to "incomplete documents", only on the same time and place the meeting was held.
The agenda consisted the following matters:
1. Inquiry on SHS Voucher and official Breakdown of Fees
2. Appeal for the janitors to be absorbed to the University as regular workers
3. Appeal to scrap all No Uniform No Entry policies systemwide
4. Appeal for a concrete refunding system for all junked and supposedly refunded fees
5. Appeal to scrap VPAA's policy that prohibits Engineering students systemwide to take summer classes and OJT at the same semester
6. Also, the Transfer of Fund of Student Publications systemwide
"This has angered me since these agenda are brought to the OSR by the students and janitors themselves. These being dismissed is not entirely surprising since this Board has passed numerous commercialization schemes in our Sintang Paaralan; and this move of the admin is challenging the movement and unity of the student body for their rights and welfare,"said Student Regent Karl Paulie Anareta.
The Board of Regents proposed for the discussion of the said matters at the next BOR meeting this December.
"We must prove that our democratic rights are not to be wished and prayed for. We must stand together to uphold our rights; we must lean on our unity and our collective action more than to any individual or administration," SR Anareta marked.
